Privacy Notice
Last updated June 2026
Palawan Watch is an open conservation project. If you sign up for alerts, this explains what we do with your email address. We try to keep it plain.
What we collect
Only your email address, and only if you choose to sign up. We don't ask for your name, location, or anything else. The website itself does not set tracking cookies or run advertising trackers.
Why we collect it
To email you when our satellite monitoring detects deforestation, fires, or mining activity in the areas we watch — which is the whole reason you signed up. That's the only purpose. We will not use your email for anything else, and we will never sell or share it.
Where it's stored
Your email is stored with Resend, the service we use to manage the subscriber list and send the alert emails. Resend processes the data on our behalf. We do not store your email anywhere else.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and that removes you from the list.
- Access or deletion — you can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, or to delete it entirely.
- If you're in the EU/UK, these rights are yours under the GDPR. We act on requests promptly.
Consent
We only add you to the list after you tick the consent box on the signup form — an explicit, opt-in choice. We never pre-tick it, and we never add anyone who didn't ask to be added.
